The Korea Information and Communication Technology Association (KICTA), led by Chairman Lee Il-ro, announced that it will support 16 Korean ICT companies participating in Japan's largest IT business platform, the "2024 Japan IT Week Autumn," held from October 23 to 25 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Tokyo.

The 16 companies supported by KICTA span various fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), XR and metaverse, security, IoT, and service software. Previously, KICTA supported 13 companies at the "Japan IT Week Spring." The upcoming "2024 Japan IT Week Autumn" will feature 12 simultaneous IT expos, including AI and business automation, software and app development, IoT solutions, cloud, metaverse, information security, big data, embedded systems, digital transformation, and digital marketing.

Since the event takes place in Tokyo, the economic center of Japan, it is considered Japan’s largest trade fair, covering the entire Japanese IT market. It is held twice a year, with the spring edition in Tokyo Big Sight and the autumn edition at Makuhari Messe, with additional events in Nagoya and Osaka in between. The 2024 Autumn exhibition is expected to host over 660 companies and attract around 40,000 visitors.

In 2023, around 40 Korean companies participated, but this year, about 90 companies are expected, doubling the number of participants. This increase is attributed to the expanding trade relations between Korea and Japan, which are enhancing cooperation and export opportunities, especially in fields such as AI, cloud, and big data, where technological exchanges and investments between companies are growing. Major organizations supporting participation include KOTRA, NIPA (National IT Industry Promotion Agency), KDB (Korea Development Bank), KOSA (Korea Software Industry Association), Gyeongnam Technopark, and KICTA.

KICTA has also supported participation in three major global IT exhibitions: CES in Las Vegas, MWC in Barcelona, and GITEX in Dubai. To help Korean IT companies expand into the Japanese market, KICTA supported 13 companies at this year’s spring event, and it is now supporting 16 companies in the autumn event, focusing on fields such as AI, AR/VR/XR/metaverse, security, IoT, and service software.

Particularly, when participating in Japanese exhibitions, KICTA avoids prominently displaying "Korea" or "KOREA" signs on the booths, as this can shift focus from the companies' technology to national promotion, making it harder for buyers to approach.

The seven companies participating in the AI field include:

  • AIDavi (AI edge systems for facility safety),
  • Daytron (AI video analysis solutions),
  • FinInsight (AI-powered corporate ESG and reputation monitoring service),
  • Ad (AdAI) (AI marketing solutions for video processing, foot traffic analysis),
  • Vytel (AI-based integrated remote control),
  • Posicube (generative AI services for enterprises, robi),
  • PCN (big data SW OASIS Data Map SW, AI services including conversational AI, and the metaverse platform MetaPlusOne SW).

The three companies in AR/VR/XR/metaverse fields are:

  • Artigen Space (AR-based book content services ARti, Weft, and Booka),
  • Deepfine (XR spatial information solutions and smart glass-based XR work management solutions),
  • AR Technology (VR drone training simulators).

In the security sector, two companies will participate:

  • Eternal (biometric devices, vein recognition systems, identity verification devices),
  • J-Solution (J-SIGN for integrated content management, J-EYE for mobile access security management, AD-Just for AI-based effectiveness measurement, and T-POP for transparent LED technology).

Three companies will participate in the service software sector:

  • Beopteul (corporate legal management systems),
  • Muhayu (Japanese-language plagiarism detection service CopyMonitor),
  • Twigfarm (multilingual video translation content generation service).

Lastly, in the IoT field, Mexus (4G, 5G IoT routers) will participate.

KICTA Vice President Lee Han-beom expressed his expectations for the event, saying, "Through this IT exhibition in Japan, we hope to supply Korea's outstanding technology to Japanese institutions and companies, expand technological cooperation and investment, establish local offices or subsidiaries, and further the IT sector's entry into Japan."
