Twigfarm announced on the 4th that it is providing translation services through 'Gcon Studio', which is the product of efforts to synergize artificial intelligence and the expertise of professional translators.
The Gcon Studio utilizes artificial intelligence to provide translation at a reasonable price by reducing the cost of translating similar content, mainly by drawing from a translation dictionary that is continuously improved as data is collected.
Twigfarm conducts research on natural language processing and artificial intelligence at its affiliated research institute. Twigfarm has notably also been conducting extensive research on machine translation, particularly on Korean and English artificial neural networks. It now offers translation services in 21 languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese, German, and Russian.
On lowering the unit price by reducing recurring or eliminating translation costs entirely, Director Baek Sun-ho explained, “Now is the era of translation 2.0, so it is important to convert translations into a usable database (DB), which clients can continuously use for translations at reasonable discounts.
According to Director Baek, “The size of the global translation market is estimated to reach about 50 trillion won in 2015, the Korean market will reach about 400 billion won, and the natural language processing market will reach 2.4 trillion won by 2024,” and, “We plan to provide accurate translation services at an affordable price to clients who need translation, and to secure the world's best technology for Korean and Asian languages based on natural language processing technology and data on Korean.”
He added, “Artificial intelligence learns from data and feedback, and the quality varies depending on the amount and quality of the data,” and Tae-dong Kim, a patent translator who trains artificial intelligence translators, added that “high-quality data that was corrected and processed using a translation dictionary is the core of our company.”
