In the artificial intelligence machine translation market led by global companies such as Google and Microsoft, Twigfarm Co., Ltd. (CEO Baek Sun-ho) is a hot topic. Twigfarm is said to have contributed to discovering a new niche market by recording a score that surpassed Google in Korean-English machine translation in the legal field.
Innovative Technology Based on Artificial Neural Networks Close to Natural Language
Twigfarm is a company that provides professional translation solutions for artificial intelligence through natural language processing (NLP) technology based on deep learning and professional translators. Recently, the Korea Information and Communication Technology Association (TTA) Software Testing and Certification Lab conducted the Verification & Validation test to compare the performance of the legal-customized machine translator with Google and scored higher than Google. In the score calculated by analyzing the accuracy of terminology and appropriateness of expression compared to the actual translation result, Twigfarm's machine translation got a good score.
Baek Sun-ho, CEO of Twig Farm, said, "Even if it is a Korean-English translation in the legal field, it is meaningful because it proves the scalability of the artificial intelligence technology developed by Twig Farm and its market competitiveness."
21 Languages Available, Expanded to Specialized Fields
Currently, Twigfarm provides not only Korean-English and English-Korean translations, but also language services in 21 countries including Chinese, Japanese, and Russian through ‘Gcon Studio’, an artificial intelligence-based online translation platform. Its specialized translation fields are also diverse, including chemistry, biotech, and patents, and its artificial neural network translation technology will continue to expand to include other languages. Hong Kyung-soo, a senior researcher, said, "Twigfarm is building high-quality data for each specialized field and focusing on algorithms that understand Korean well," adding, "This result proves global competitiveness while providing accurate and reliable translation services in the field."
In order to achieve accuracy, "translation dictionary," a database tailored to technical terms and expressions, plays a large role. As such, big data of language patterns acquired through professional glossaries, translation memory containing translation know-how, and experience is required. To this end, Gcon Studio, an artificial intelligence-based online platform, provides customized translation services for each company, language, and field. It can also be reused continuously, reducing translation costs by about 30-80%.
As companies around the world dream of entering the global market, our goal is to help language not become an obstacle to securing competitiveness, CEO Baek said. "We will mobilize all our technology to provide accurate translation solutions because business translation is different from general translation," he said.
Twigfarm signed a contract with Morningside Translation, the world's top patent company, this year, and is providing MTPE (Machine Translation Post-Editing) patent translation service that combines artificial intelligence-based machine translation and professional translator review. Recently, it was also selected as a data processing company for the data voucher support project conducted by the Korea Data Industry Promotion Agency.
