Twigfarm Attracts Korea Credit Guarantee Fund 'Pre-Series A' Investment

2020-04-25

Twig Farm (CEO Baek Sun-ho) announced on the 25th that it had attracted pre-series A investment from the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KODIT).

Twigfarm has a competitive edge in the quality of machine translation in the Korean-English legal field. The company said, "It is known as a Korean startup that beat Google by being certified by the Korea Information and Communication Technology Association (TTA) because it was measured to have better translation quality than Google." Based on artificial intelligence natural language processing technology, the company offers 'Gcon Studio', a project management solution for translation companies, and 'heybunny,’ a convenient email-based translation service for clients.

'Gcon Studio' is a solution that automates about 40% of the translation project management process and provides better quality translation services to clients by checking translated documents with a translation quality checker using artificial intelligence.

In addition, 'heybunny' is a service that is not tied to desktop or mobile devices, and sends back the translated content by e-mail when you send content that needs translation. heybunny can be used in any environment where you can send an e-mail, and does not require installing a program.

Twigfarm said, "With this investment, we are able to take a step forward as Asia's best natural language processing company.” Twigfarm further said, "We are focusing all our research capabilities on creating algorithms that best understand Korean."

Twigfarm has attracted investment from the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund.

Twigfarm acquired communication design company Supersquare last year to improve its solution and service usability.

Baek Sun-ho, CEO of Twigfarm, said, "I am grateful that the investment was carried out in these difficult times induced by COVID-19. As always, the translation industry is also very difficult. In particular, freelancers (contract workers) who receive work from translation companies and translation companies are having a hard time. I hope our solution will help in these difficult times.”

Twigfarm is also holding an event where you can use 'Gcon Studio' for free for one month for translation companies that are suffering from COVID-19.

Twigfarm provides artificial intelligence specialized translation solutions through natural language processing (NLP) technology based on deep learning and professional translators. A glossary of terms frequently used in professional translation, a translation memory containing translation know-how, and a translation pattern acquired through experience are converted into a database through a 'translation dictionary', and more accurate and natural translation is provided with AI technology.

In particular, the company explained that the "translation dictionary" built in this way will provide customized translation services for each field, language, and company through artificial intelligence-based online platform Gcon Studio, and can be reused to increase the work performance of translation companies and translators by about 30-80%.

In addition, the big data-based 'translation dictionary' is developed through the AI-based parallel corpus creation solution 'Gcon Corpus' developed by Twigfarm and the translation inspection and verification solution 'Gcon Inspect'. It supports accurate and consistent translation.
