The Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) successfully operated the Korean Pavilion at the “Singapore Week of Innovation & Technology (SWITCH) 2024,” held from October 28 to 30 in Singapore, as announced on the 31st.

Celebrating its ninth year, SWITCH is Asia's largest international startup exhibition, bringing together innovative tech startups, creators, and investors from around the world. This year, approximately 20,000 attendees participated in events such as conferences, startup showcases, the SLINGSHOT pitch competition, and roundtable discussions.

For the second consecutive year, KOCCA managed the Korean Pavilion, supporting Korean content startups expanding into Southeast Asia with Singapore as a central hub. Ten companies joined the Korean Pavilion this year: Twigfarm, Witz, Video Monster, Beat Corporation, Before Play, Braindeck, Museblossom, Ninedoc, Production Gogeum, and Piastudio.

During the event, these companies held a total of 396 business meetings with major partners, including Southeast Asia’s largest e-commerce platform, Lazada, and investment firm Kopital Ventures. These efforts generated export consultation deals worth $24 million (approximately 33.1 billion KRW), establishing a foundation for further expansion into Singapore and Southeast Asia.

KOCCA also participated in the “Global Stage” conference, where it hosted a Korean session under the theme, “AI Technology Breaks Cultural Boundaries and Enables Content Enjoyment.” The session featured speakers including Nam-Joo Lee, Director of CJ ENM, who discussed K-content production and distribution; Young-Hoon Jung, CEO of XL8, which provides AI translation and localization solutions to global companies; and Seonho Baek, CEO of Twigfarm, which focuses on AI-driven content localization and maximizing content value. Their talks garnered significant interest from industry attendees.

Additionally, KOCCA held a business networking event, “KOCCA Night,” on October 28 in Singapore, the financial hub of Southeast Asia, to highlight the strength of Korea’s content industry and innovative startups. A total of 169 people attended, including local investors and key industry figures. The event featured startup pitches, a panel discussion on the future of K-content, and potential synergies between technology and the content industry.

KOCCA also hosted the opening ceremony for its new Singapore Business Center, presenting local business strategies and announcing its formal launch. Moving forward, the Singapore Business Center aims to drive investment and overseas expansion efforts, providing a range of support services for Korean companies.
